How about an internet cafe?
For 8 hours one of the booths can be yours. You get unlimited internet, tv, manga comics and machine dispensed drinks for about $20. There is enough space to stretch out and sleep in the nice comfy padded private booth but there may be too much to do. This option is far more comfy and private then a hostel and it forces you to get up early.
Or a capsule hotel!
Picture a 10 storey building so skinny there is only enough space for one hotel room on each floor. Not ideal right? Someone somewhere had the brilliant idea of putting in private fiberglass capsules you slide into. Stacked two high 26 of these can be stuffed into a larger then average hotel room. Each capsule has its own light, tv, radio and fan. Lugguage is kept in lockers on the second floor where you change into your complimentary robe. The third floor has an onsen and sauna with tv. The fourth floor massage chairs and big screen tvs. The whole experience is well ...... an experience but for 37$ a night I shall stick with the internet cafes followed by a visit to an onsen in the morning.
